Brought up by her parents to appreciate and respect nature, Maya is a big environmentalist. She’s always had deep concerns for the plight of the planet but its only recently that she’s had more success in getting her message across. Much more headway has been achieved, speaking out when ever given an opportunity and working together with WWF, Malaysian Nature Society, Ministry of Environs and the media. Maya was appointed by the Ministry to help create awareness for the International Year of the Reef 2008, and continues to promote environmental events and issues.
